Cheesy does it for Monroe tennis team

MONROE - Tennis fans and movie buffs alike may start calling their squad "Barholf's 11" after Tuesday night's win over Stoughton.

The Cheesemakers dropped just 11 games and nary a set in their third Badger dual win in as many tries.

The only relative struggle for Monroe was No. 1 doubles partners Matt Turek and Levi Jannsens. The seniors won 6-3, 6-3.

Carson Root went 6-0, 6-0, in No. 1 singles, quickly putting the nail in Brian Coffin. No. 2 player Matt Le defeated Nick Larson, 6-0, 6-1. Artem Bralgin won 6-0, 6-1, in No. 3 play over Kobi Keimholz and Dan Becker erased his No. 4 adversary, Neil Morris, 6-1, 6-0.

Mark Hoesly and Jim Kundert won 6-0, 6-1, in No. 2 doubles play and Nick Hendrickson and Trevor Arn won their No. 3 match, 6-1, 6-0.

Monroe continues conference play in Oregon on Thursday. Its junior-varsity squad also cruised, 9-0, Tuesday evening against Stoughton.
