MADISON - Monroe is sending three singles players and two doubles teams to sectionals today in Whitewater.
Lauri Juonela, Matt Le and Eric Knudtson each advanced in singles Tuesday during sub-sectionals in Madison. Monroe's Artem Beer and Jim Kundert advanced as a duo, as did Mark Hoesly and Dan Becker.
Juonela won his only match, 6-0, 6-0. Le trumped Ian Anderson of Whitewater 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 and then Michael Gray of McFarland 6-4, 6-2.
Knudtson topped Chris Boldger of Big Foot 6-0, 6-0 and then Matt Hotz of East Troy 7-6, 6-0.
Beer and Kundert won 6-3, 6-0 in their only match and Hoesly and Becker won 6-2, 6-0.
Carson Root won his first match in singles before losing in the second round to get bumped out of the tournament. Garrett Tschanz and Pat Gellings won in overtime in the first round, but fell in three sets in their second match.
