DARLINGTON - The Redbirds got a big night from sophomore guard Cassidy Chambers, who scored 28 points, in a 68-58 win over Southwestern Friday.

Chambers hit five 3-pointers and collected five steals for Darlington (10-3, 6-1 SWAL). Carley McDonald had 11 points and seven rebounds and Amy Jorgenson added 9 points and six assists.

"The biggest thing for us was that Amy Jorgenson, our leading scorer, was able to drive the lane and kick out to Cassidy," Darlington coach Mike Chambers said. "Cassidy had been in a little bit of a slump, so it's good to see her break out of that."

Darlington trailed 20-19 after the first quarter but grabbed a 36-32 lead. By the end of the third quarter, the Redbirds held a 50-43 advantage.

With the win, Darlington stays on top of the standings in the SWAL.
