PALMYRA - The Brodhead-Juda girls track team won seven events en route to winning the Palmyra-Eagle Invitational team title Saturday.
The Cardinals racked up 153 total points to finish ahead of runner-up Clinton (124) in the 10-team invitational. The Brodhead-Juda boys track team took fourth (70). Richmond outdueled Lake Country Lutheran for the boys championship 145-115.
Brodhead-Juda senior Madee Harding had a hand in winning three events, including the 100-meter dash (13.79 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (27.53). Harding teamed with senior Cora Purdue, senior MacKenzie Byrne and junior Rhianna Teubert to win the 800 relay (1:52.12).
Brodhead-Juda junior Nicole Kamholz won the 400 (1:05.92), and senior Sage Harper finished first in the discus throw (96 feet, 3 inches). Junior teammate Abbrielle Maureman won the triple jump with a jump of 31-1.
The Cardinals' 3,200-relay team of Kamholz, Morgan Tresemer, Zoe Tresemer and Madelyn McIntyre won the 3,200 relay (10:36.99).
Purdue took second in the 800 (2:29.76). The Cardinals' 400-relay team of Savanna Schwartzlow, Mariah Riese, Taylor Adkins and Byrne took second (55.88). Purdue and Teubert teamed with Morgan Tresemer and Kamholz to finish second in the 1,600 relay (4:28.46). Teubert finished second in the 100 hurdles (18.6) and second in the pole vault (8-6).
In the boys invitational, Brodhead-Juda senior Brekan Day, the WIAA Division 2 defending state champion in the high jump, won the event clearing 5-10. Senior teammate Justice Tway took third in the high jump (5-6).
Brodhead-Juda's 800-relay team of Dalton Naramore, Nick Naramore, Tway and Day took second (1:39.90).
The Cardinals' 3,200-relay team of Kyle Braund, Royce Brauer, Carter Urness and Holden Whitledge finished third (9:18.30). Brodhead-Juda junior Theo Policastro placed third in the pole vault (9-6).
