BH, NG net conference wins

ALBANY - Black Hawk made just one 3-pointer but dominated the game inside the arc en route to a 53-37 win over Albany Friday.

Conner Meyer scored 24 points for the Warriors, including 13 in the second half to help close out the game. C.J. Leuzinger chipped in 10 for Black Hawk. The Warriors led 29-18 at halftime.

Josh Dahl had 13 points to lead Albany.



New Glarus 88, Waterloo 71

NEW GLARUS - Junior point guard Jaden Kreklow scored a game-high 25 points to help New Glarus run past Waterloo in its first Capitol South Conference game of the season Friday.

Junior teammate Zach Feller added 24 points and was 8 of 9 at the free throw line. The Knights shot 59.4 percent from the free-throw line (22 of 37). Senior Cullen Brooks added 12 points and junior Trevor Gassman chipped in 10 points. With the win, New Glarus improves to 9-0 overall overall.



Barneveld 56, Monticello 22

BARNEVELD - The Ponies managed just two points in the first half on a pair of free throws by Braden Gafner and got blown out on the road.

Reece Rufer scored all 11 of his points in the second half, as the Ponies managed just seven field goals in the entire game. In the first half Monticello was just 2 of 7 from the charity stripe.

Barneveld led 32-2 at the break and was led in scoring by Macolm Reed's 16.



Wisconsin Heights 70, Belleville 66

BELLEVILLE - Wisconsin Heights had four players in double figures as the Vanguards held off Belleville Friday night.

Clayton Caminiti led Heights (8-1, 1-0 Capitol South) in scoring with 17.

Jaydon Winkers scored a game-high 21 for Belleville (4-6, 0-1). Drew Shrader added 16 for the Wildcats, which led by 13 early in the first half before foul trouble allowed Heights to get back into the game.

Brodhead 57,

East Troy 44

BRODHEAD - Senior Erin Nyhus scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Cardinals past East Troy Friday.

Nyhus made 5 of 7 free throws. As a team, Brodhead shot 55 percent from the free throw line (12 of 22) compared to the Trojans which shot 50 percent (5 of 10). East Troy's Erin Rice also scored 21 points.

Brodhead senior Brooke Bescup added 15 points and junior Alexis Oliver chipped in 8. With the win, Brodhead improves to 6-6 overall and 3-6 in the Rock Valley Conference.
