Avalanche Mites teams split with Waunakee

MONROE - The Monroe Avalanche Mite B team, which consists of first-year Mite players ages 5-8 years old, squared off with the Waunakee Wildcats Mite B squad at SLICE Sunday. The Wildcats prevailed, 6-3.

Heath Bear manned the net for Monroe and had 33 saves. Tessa Janecke, Kaiden Klitzke and Payton Stauffacher each had a goal. Stauffacher also had an assist.

The Monroe Avalanche Mite A team, consisting of players ages 7-8, also played the Waunakee Wildcat Mite B team. The Avalanche defeated the Wildcats, 9-1.

Cade Janecke and Joe Wyss each had hat tricks for Monroe, while Emma Ness, Travis Edmunds and Heath Bear had a goal apiece. Wyss also had two assists in the victory.

The Mite A team will travel to Rockford this Sunday for a game at Carlson Ice Arena against the Rockford Mite A team.
