Albany will host two cross country meets

ALBANY - Albany will host two major cross country meets this October.

The annual Baertschi Invite will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Fred & Dorothy Baertschi Farm, W1092 Dunphy Rd., Albany, WI 53502.

The Baertschi farm will also be the site of the Division 3 Sectional cross country meet from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Awards ceremonies will take place following the races at both meets.

Attendees of these events are encouraged to try and enter Dunphy Road from the Highway E direction. Dunphy Road from the Highway 104 direction will be detoured at Edmunds Road on Oct. 12 starting at 8:45 a.m. and reopening at noon. The same detour will take place Oct. 26 for Sectionals from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The detour is for safety of all the runners and workers.

There is no cost of admission to the Baertschi Invite. The WIAA Sectional will charge $3 per person and additional charges for parking.
