Two area football teams are ranked in the Small Division of the Associated Press' first state football rankings of the season, while another team is rated in the Middle Division.

Black Hawk is ranked fifth, and Pecatonica-Argyle seventh in the Small Division (enrollment 283 or lower).

Brodhead-Juda is ranked sixth in the Middle Division (284-742 enrollment).
