Tonya Marie (Wall) Whitney, 40, of Juda, WI, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home with her family by her side.

A prayer service will be 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Joseph’s Church, Peru with Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester, officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mount Palatine, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Victor Church, Monroe, WI. Check the church website or bulletin for details. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending services are kindly asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.

Tonya was born November 15, 1980 in Peru to Jim and Rose (Kunkel) Wall. She graduated from St. Bede Academy in 1998 and Illinois State University in 2002. She worked as a quality manager at Klondike Cheese, Co. She married Rustin Whitney on June 25, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Peru.

She was a member of the Juda school board, involved in 4-H, Teens Encounter Christ and was also a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe, WI. She loved being with her family and raising her daughter Leah. She was a naturally gifted person who could do it all.

She is survived by her husband, Rustin, a daughter, Leah of Juda, WI; her parents, Jim and Rose Wall of Granville; two brothers, Jim (Chris) Schonenbach and Derek (Stacey) Wall and two sisters, Danielle and Aubrie Wall.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Eugene “Geno” Just and Al and Rita Kunkel.

Pallbearers will be her parents and her siblings.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Bede Academy, Justice for a Cure and University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Illinois and Wisconsin at a later date.
