Roger “Rudy” Rothenbuehler, age 82, of Monroe passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born the son of Albert and Wilma (Blumer) Rothenbuehler on November 6, 1937 in Jordan Center Township. He was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School. Rudy married the love of his life Judy Maass on December 6, 1980 in Orangeville, they had a very special, loving bond throughout their marriage.

Rudy worked for Swiss Colony for 35 years in the shipping and receiving department. After his retirement, he continued to keep busy working at Green Valley Disposal. Rudy enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards, and hunting; he was an avid deer, duck and pheasant hunter. He was a loyal Cubs fan and also liked to watch the Packers and Badgers. Rudy was known for being a story teller for anyone who would listen. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754 and St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe.

Rudy was very proud of his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He was the rock of his family and will be greatly missed.

Rudy is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Judy of Monroe ; children, Laurie (Jim) Hegi of Monroe and Tony (Tana) Rothenbuehler of Lena; five grandchildren, Jackie (Nick Bussian) Beach, Erica (Dan Polans) Hegi, Talia Rothenbuehler, Brittany (Trevor) Gaulrapp, and Brandi Rothenbuehler; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Tate; and his brother, Keith (Sharon Campbell) Rothenbuehler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Rothenbuehler; and sisters, Marian McGuire, Dorothy Lewis, and one in infancy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 5, 2020 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Rev. Christie Mandas officiating. Burial will follow service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Rudy’s name. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to all of the healthcare staff at The Monroe Clinic Hospital for their great care and compassion for Rudy.
