Pearlie Mae Mitchell, age 96, of Monroe formerly of Hattiesburg, MS passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the New Glarus Home. She was born the daughter of James and Leva (Burges) Stinson on August 4, 1928 in Richton, MS. She graduated from high school in Mississippi. She was united in marriage to Troy Mitchell, they shared many wonderful years together.
Pearlie lived in Hattiesburg, MS for many years, moving to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter Deb 10 years ago. She was a Dental Assistant for most of her working career. She loved to sew and was a talented seamstress and quilter. Above all else Pearlie enjoyed spending time with her family.
Pearlie is survived by her daughter, Debbie Armitage; grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Linder, Brad Armitage, and Lindsay Armitage; 10 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Sherrie (Lee) Richmond; siblings, Lucille Lively and James Preston “Shot” Stinson, Jr.; dear friend and caregiver, Karen Rothenbach; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy; sons, Charles, Marcus (Marilyn), and Larry Maxie; grandchildren, Mike Maxie and Melissa Maxie; brothers, Preston, Alonzo, and Dick Stinson; and son-in-law, Pete Armitage.
