RICHLAND CENTER — A 25-year-old Richland Center man faces felony charges after a stabbing in Richland Center and police chase into Grant County Oct. 18.

Alvaro Adame-Reyna made his first Richland County Circuit Court appearance Friday on attempted first-degree intentional homicide, stalking, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, operating after revocation, ignition interlock device tampering or failure to install, and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.

The initial appearance was adjourned for Adame-Reyna to find a public defender and view the criminal complaint, according to court records. The initial appearance will continue Tuesday.

Adame-Reyna faces life in prison if convicted of the attempted homicide charge.

Adame-Reyna was cited in Grant County with reckless driving endangering safety, operating left of center, passing in a no-passing zone, and two citations for failure to stop at a stop sign. His intake hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30.

Richland Center police received a report of a woman stabbed near Los Amigos 2 Restaurant in the 100 block of North Main Street Oct. 18 around 2:05 p.m. Witnesses said Adame-Reyna grabbed the woman and stabbed her multiple times before a passing motorist interrupted the stabbing.

Police said the woman and Adame-Reyna had been in a relationship that the woman recently ended.

A bystander took the woman to The Richland Hospital, according to a restaurant Facebook post, for two stab wounds. Police said she was treated and released.

Adame-Reyna left the area in his car, and another person had to jump onto the hood of his car to avoid being hit by the car. Police said that person was not injured.

Grant and Richland county sheriff’s deputies spotted the vehicle driven by the suspect in Blue River.

The vehicle went through a stop sign at North East Street and Wisconsin 133 and continued south on Grant County T at high speed for almost 15 miles before crashing into a ditch near Tower Road.

Reyna suffered minor injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said. He was transported to the Richland County Jail.

Boscobel Police, Fire and EMS assisted Grant and Richland county deputies. Sheriff’s deputies assisted Richland Center police.

Adame-Reyna is charged in Richland County with second-offense operating while intoxicated, ignition interlock device tampering or failure to install, and operating after revocation after he was arrested June 19. Adame-Reyna was arrested on a bench warrant after he failed to appear for his first hearing June 30. After a status conference Wednesday, another status conference is scheduled for Dec. 3.

Adame-Reyna was convicted of first-offense operating while intoxicated in 2023, according to court records.
