Robert “Bob” Lee Schumacher, age 92 of Monroe passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Dimension Living Memory Care in Monroe. He was born the son of Robert E. and Leah (Hastings) Schumacher on October 28, 1934 in Cadiz Township where he was raised on their family farm. He was a 1952 graduate of South Wayne High School; following high school he proudly served in the US Army for four years. Bob was united in marriage to Ruth McKibben on September 1, 2007 in Monroe.

Bob worked for the Plumber’s Union Local 75 for 40 years; retiring in 1999. After retirement he enjoyed Jeep Jamborees in Colorado and spending the winters in Daytona, FL with Ruth.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth McKibben; children, Dina (Lonnie) Peterson, Lynn Schumacher, Robert Schumacher, Jon (Barb) Schumacher, Curtis (Luanne) Schumacher, Fred (Sara) Schumacher, and Dave Schumacher; step-son, Uno (Odessa) McKibben; grandchildren, Ryan Schumacher, Seth Schumacher, Lisa (Lee) Bender, Mary (Aron) Lundberg, Amanda (Jesse) Strawbridge, Jake Hofmeister, Jon Hofmeister, Dawson Zantow, Vivian McKibben, and Conrad McKibben; great-grandchildren, Reese, Ella, Violet, and Avi; as well as his sisters, Judy Wyssbrod and Patty Eels; many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jared Schumacher.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Monroe with Pastor Tim Hunter officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at the church.
