STOCKTON — The Stockton Heritage Museum will host its Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 8, at 2 p.m., followed by a special program at 2:30 p.m. featuring longtime Stockton resident Verla Bohnhoff Rhyner in “A Conversation with Verla.” The museum is located at 107 West Front Street, Stockton, IL.
Join as Verla reflects on her life as a daughter, wife, mother, and active member of the Stockton area. Through personal stories and vivid memories, she will share her experiences growing up on the family farm — much of which once encompassed areas that are now central parts of Stockton, including a church, schools, and Maple Avenue.
Verla will recount her school days and the ways World War II shaped daily life for students and families. She will also speak about her first job at the school after graduation, offering insight into the rhythms of small-town life and the close-knit relationships that defined her generation.
The program will include stories of classmates, recollections of community events, and reflections on how Stockton has changed over the decades.
Attendees can look forward to an afternoon of heartfelt storytelling, local history, and treasured recollections — along with additional anecdotes Verla chooses to share about the people and moments that shaped her life and the community.
“A Conversation with Verla,” will take place on Sunday November 8 at the Stockton Heritage Museum, 107 West Front Street, Stockton, IL, at 2:30 p.m. This event will follow the museum’s annual meeting, which starts at 2 p.m. the same day.
The event is free and open to all audiences. For more information, visit www.stocktonheritagemuseum.org, visit on Facebook: Stockton-Heritage-Museum-309324911534, email info@stocktonheritagemuseum.org, or leave a message at 815-947-2220.
