Lila Reinking, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2021 at Touchmark Assisted Living in Appleton, WI. She was born on February 19, 1931, in New Glarus, WI and was the oldest child of the late Louisa and Oswald Schneider. After graduating from New Glarus High School, she married Don Reinking on October 21, 1950 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus. They made their home in Monroe where she worked for Eagle Foods, later known as Pick ‘N Save, for many years, retiring in 1995. She was an avid bowler and baker, and enjoyed camping, traveling, and time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe.
Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Moran (Cary) Milwaukee, and Kathy Reinking-Hermsen (Steve) Appleton; two cherished granddaughters, Mikayla Hermsen and Katelyn Hermsen; a brother, Ron Schneider, New Glarus, and a sister, Janet Blanc, Monroe.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 66 years, Don.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive in Monroe on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service immediately following. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
