Laurie Jean (Fowler) Arn
Laurie Jean (Fowler) Arn

Brodhead -Laurie Jean (Fowler) Arn passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born on August 6th, 1959 to Clayton and Mary Lou (Perington) Fowler of Avon, WI. She graduated from Brodhead High School in 1977. She married Jeffrey Kettle on August 20th, 1978, and together they had two children, Derek and Erin. They later divorced in 2003, and Laurie worked hard to raise her two kids as a single mom. She met Tim Arn through working at Daniel's Sentry Foods in Janesville and together, they built a wonderful life. After many years together, they were married on September 22, 2014.

Laurie worked as a dental assistant for 30 years alongside her brother, Dr. Donald Fowler at his dental office in Orfordville. She also worked as a scan coordinator for Daniel's Sentry Foods in Janesville for many years and Grande Cheese in Juda up until her early retirement in 2021 after a diagnosis of multiple myeloma. For the last year and a half, her full-time job was caring for her grandson, Henry.

Laurie loved tending to her flowers, crafting, antiques, cats, Mexican food, blended strawberry margaritas, shopping, and trips to Las Vegas with her husband, Tim. She loved Old Fashioned Bakery buttercream cake and making her family desserts for every occasion. Above all, she fiercely loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was always proud to boast about their achievements, and she looked forward to having her family together for celebrations. She spoiled everyone around her with her generosity, buying gifts for every single holiday and filling a room with presents at Christmas. She was dependable and always there with a warm hug when her children or grandchildren needed her, many times traveling across the country or state to help them. She always pushed her family to achieve their dreams and often reminded them how proud she was of their accomplishments.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Tim Arn; children, Derek (Andrea) Kettle and Erin (Garrett Fisher) Kettle; grandchildren, Claire Kettle, Natalie Kettle, and Henry Fisher; mother, Mary Lou Fowler; siblings, Wendy (Bob) Oliver and Randy (Brenda) Fowler; sister-in-law, Vonda Fowler; mother-in-law, Dorothy Arn; brother-in-law, Jeremy (Angie) Arn; sister-in-law, Angie (Chris) Douglas; former husband, Jeffrey Kettle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Fowler; brother Donald Fowler; and father-in-law Stephan Arn.

She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her, but she will live on in our hearts forever.

The family is respecting Laurie's wishes and holding a private ceremony in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Laurie’s name to the Fowler Memorial Dental Clinic in Monroe or the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
