Jacqueline (Jackie) Ione Hennager, age 92 formerly of Monroe WI, died peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the BeeHive Homes of Maple Grove, MN, an assisted memory care facility, with family at her side.  
Jackie was born March 27, 1930 in Nebraska City, NE daughter of Wesley and Lorieta (Munson) Booth. Jackie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, TX in 1947 and from Iowa State College in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.  
On June 17, 1951 Jackie married Carroll Gene Hennager, also a student at Iowa State. She worked as a dietitian at the college hospital while Gene finished his senior year of veterinarian school.  
In 1954, Jackie and Gene moved to Monroe, WI to form the Monroe Veterinary Service. A homemaker for over 25 years, Jackie also worked as an activity coordinator at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home for over 15 years. After the death of Gene Hennager, Jackie married Edward Schmitz in 1996.
Jackie was very active in the community:  past president of the Women’s Club, founding member of the Monroe Curling Club, member of the Monroe Country Club, Girl Scout troop leader, and Outstanding Leadership award winner from the Girl Scout Council. She was a member of the Methodist Church and choir for over 60 years and also a former member of the Monroe Swiss Singers. Jackie also modeled clothing for local dress shops for many years in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Jackie’s hobbies included golfing, curling, bowling, dancing, traveling, singing, movies, music, and attending concerts, including her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Hall of Mankato, MN; sister-in –law Mary Booth of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law Don Hennager of Austin, MN; son Steven (Sally) Hennager of Ames, IA; daughters Sandra Hennager of Dallas, TX; and Suzanne (Tom) Denecke of Maple Grove, MN; three grandchildren Emily (Kevin) DeVries, Mark (Kristen Sinicariello) Hennager, Kathryn Denecke; and two great-grandchildren, Cora and Tessa DeVries.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Hennager; second husband, Edward Schmitz; and brother, Jerry Booth.
A small family service was held at Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Home in Maple Grove, MN on April 16, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, WI.  
Jackie appreciated all the love and support from members of the United Methodist Church in Monroe, members of the Monroe Swiss Singers, and others from the community and surrounding area. Your cards, letters, and gifts put a smile on her face and her family is grateful for your kindness.
