Gaylord G. Flannery, age 70 of Monticello died, Friday June 24, 2022 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. He was born on October 14, 1951in Green County, Wisconsin, the son of Glen and Charlene (Indergand) Flannery. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1969. Gaylord was married to Karin Pitman and later Vonnie Roosli. He was a dairy farmer for 40 years and then went to work for Federal Industries in Belleville for 10 years, retiring in June of 2021.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #754, a supporter of the Apparitions motorcycle club; he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, softball (where he managed the team, back in the day), pitched horseshoes, was a member and active with the Green County Coyote Hunters, and trips to Ho-Chunk casino.
He is survived by his fiancé, Rose Marty of Monticello ; children: Erin (Paul) Salzman of Hartford, WI, Sean (Jody) Flannery of Monroe, Robert (Amanda) Flannery of Monroe and Robyn Flannery of Monroe; bonus children: Nichole (Jessie) Newton of Pardeville, Alma (fiancé, Curtis Street) Mentz of Monticello, Julia (Tony) Watson of Monticello, and Hans (Emily Yaunke) Marty of Monticello; grandchildren, Camber McKinnon, Holly McKinnon, Kaydence Flannery, Dillon Flannery, and Harley Flannery; bonus grandchildren: Tanner, Morgan, Maddie, Mabel, Easton, Payton, Ainsley, Charlotte, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Zach, Gabe, Riley and Brittney Salzman; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Randall Flannery of Monroe; and sister, Glenene Hardel of New Glarus. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2022 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. A visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
There will also be a Celebration of Gaylord’s Life at the Apparitions motorcycle club house at a later date.
