Dorothy Roth, age 88 of rural Monroe, passed away on October 14, 2021 at Graceland Manor in Monroe. She was born on August 6, 1933 the daughter of Henry and Erna (Kundert) Kolb. Dorothy married Roy Roth on March 8, 1952 in Monroe. She and her husband farmed near Argyle for four years and then near Monroe for thirty years. Dorothy was a prolific seamstress and artist. She was also an assessor for ten years for Monroe and Cadiz Township.
Dorothy was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe. She enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing, quilting; and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her smile and grace.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn (Dale) Klassy of Palatine, Il, Jean (John) Scalone of San Diego, CA, Gail (Chuck) Zeitler of Monroe, WI, Diane (David) Tertin of Browntown, WI, Shan (Pat) McConnell of Cross Plains, WI; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillian Kolb of Monroe, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Henry Jr., John, Roy, and Frederick; sisters, Helen and Marian in infancy.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Shriner Hager Gohlke is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Dorothy’s name to either the Monroe Public Library or The Green County Cheese Museum.
