Dalvin Louis Schultz, age 85, of South Wayne, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, from a sudden illness at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with his family by his side. He was born on August 8, 1936, in Gratiot Township to Arthur and Lucille (Kant) Schultz.

Dalvin attended the Zion grade school and graduated from South Wayne High School in 1954. He married Karen Bondele on February 3, 1957, at the West Wiota Lutheran Church. Dalvin’s passion was in agriculture as he was a lifelong farmer who continued farming on the farm known as Schultzland, a place where his grandchildren love to visit. He was very knowledgeable from modern farming practices to current events and local history. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a founding member of the Zion Country Club.

Dalvin was very friendly and enjoyed talking with people. For many years he played fastpitch and slowpitch in Wiota and Gratiot. Dalvin was most proud of his children and one of his greatest joys was attending his grandchildren’s school events. He often liked to tease Karen about her Norwegian heritage.

In addition to his wife Karen, of 64 years, Dalvin is survived by his 5 children, Kevin (Sheila) Schultz of Warren, IL, Kelly (Todd Symons) Cook of Warren, IL, Kerry Schultz of South Wayne, WI, Krisann Weier of Mineral Point, WI and Kraig (Lisa) Schultz of Elkhart, KS; 10 grandchildren, Brad Schultz, Heather Geary, Kevin (Renee) Schultz, Arthur (DayLee) Schultz, Adam Cook, Alex (Kari Mueller) Cook, Thomas (Kaitlyn) Schultz, Elisa Weier, Alexa Weier, Koe Schultz and Lakota Schultz; 5 great-grandchildren, Angelise, Blaze, Hadley, Piper and Briggs; a sister, Carol (Jerry) Schliem and 2 sisters-in-law, Joan (Jerry) Holm and Pat (Duane) Shultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dalvin will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as he was a strong, proud and good man. He will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 2021, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 209 Clinton Street, Warren, IL from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastors Michelle Knight and Dayna Weltzin Paz presiding. Burial will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL. There will be a luncheon at Wally’s Restaurant in Warren following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital which was one of Dalvin’s favorite charities or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
