Betty Dunn, age 62, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Monroe, WI. on June 24, 1961, the daughter of Myron and Alice (Swenson) Nolty. Betty obtained a degree in Medical Assistant along with Billing & Coding from Keiser University. Betty was united in marriage to John Dunn on September 21, 1979, at the Green County Courthouse in Monroe, WI. During their marriage Betty was the very best homemaker, wife, and mother to John and their six children.
Betty was an active member of the Cape Christian Fellowship Church in Cape Coral. When she had free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and macramé. She had a passion for cooking and loved having cookouts with all her family at their home. The center of Betty’s life although, was her husband, children, and grandchildren. They were the absolute light of her life, and she would drop anything for them. It wasn’t unheard of for her to be needed by one of her kids and she would hop on a plane the same day to be there for whatever they needed. There was nothing she wouldn’t have done to make as many memories as possible with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband: John at home in Cape Coral, FL. Her children: Michael Dunn of Cape Coral, FL, Marcia Dunn of Cape Coral, FL, Johnny Dunn of North Fort Myers, FL, and Phelycia Dunn of Cape Coral, FL. Her 6 grandchildren: Valerie, Savannah, Erica, Rylee, Mia, and Luna; Her brothers: John Nolty of Monroe, WI, and Tom (Shirley) Nolty of Janesville, WI. Sisters: Diana (Robert) Moen of Monroe, WI. Beverley Bittner of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Connie (Ted) Henderson of Monroe, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws: Pat Dunn in 2007 and Mae Dunn in 2022, one brother: Mike Nolty, and two children: Tommy Dunn in 1986 and Chelsie Dunn in 2003.
