Anna Mae Elaine Hefty Lindsay Gibbons, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 30, 2021, surrounded by her daughters, Kay, Kathy, and Karen. She was 96 years old.

Anna Mae was born in Belleville WI, on May 7, 1924, to Gustave Hefty and Clara Grossenbacher. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1941.

Anna Mae was blessed with a large and loving family. In 1946, she married Ralph E. Lindsay and they had four children together, who she raised with patience, discipline, and humility. Sadly, Ralph was tragically killed in a car accident in 1963; she found love again with Edward Gibbons to whom she was married to for 37 years until his death in 2005.

Anna Mae wore many hats in her lifetime- laundress, waitress, engineer, homemaker, gardener, wife, sister, mother, daughter, and friend. She was an exemplary matriarch, always leading by example and instilling the key values of resilience, discipline and grace. Anna Mae always honored her obligations, working hard, helping others and she was sustained by her faith when she became a young widower with four children. She embraced life's challenges with great success. During World War II, Anna Mae worked in Akron, OH, fixing war planes; she excelled at it.

Anna Mae was very disciplined and always kept to her daily routine; her commitment to daily exercise and a healthy diet contributed to her good health in her final decades of life, allowing her to drive and live on her own until Christmas of 2020.

Anna Mae is survived by her four children, Kay (Paul) Urban, Kathy (Perry) Whitaker, Keith (Delores) Lindsay, and Karen (Steve) Swenson, step-children, Marla Gibbons, Marna Gibbons Starr and Gail Gibbons, 20 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her three siblings, husbands, Ralph Lindsay and Edward Gibbons, grandchildren, Joshua Lindsay, Heather Urban and great-grandchild, Joe Wyss.

Funeral Services will take place at Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave, Monroe, WI, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00am. A visitation will be held at 9:30am until the time of service, officiated by Pastor John Tabaka. Anna Mae will be buried at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to
