MONROE - Green County Emergency Management announced warming centers will be open until Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Extremely cold temperatures began Sunday, Jan. 5 and are expected to last through the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 8. Meteorologists are predicting lows today, Jan. 6 will reach only -5 to -15 with wind chills remaining in the -30 to -40 danger zone.
Tree emergency warming centers have been identified and will be available until the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 8. Anyone in need should contact the local police department or the Green County Sheriff's Department who will then contact the person in charge of one of the warming centers. A center in Monroe, Brodhead and New Glarus will have been set up and will open when needed.:
