Tornado spotter classes to be offered in March

MONROE - Green County Emergency Management, along with the Monroe Fire Department, MidWest Severe Storm Tracking/Response Center and the National Weather Service, will host two local tornado spotter classes in March.

A basic tornado spotter class will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, March 10 at the Monroe Fire Department, 601 West 17th St. An advanced tornado spotter class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10 at the Monroe Fire Department. Both classes are open to the public. There is no cost to attend the classes. Participants do not need to take the basic class before taking the advanced class, but it is recommended to help in further understanding of the material covered in the class.

Those who want to attend the classes should pre-register no later than Friday, March 7 by contacting Green County Emergency Management at 608-328-9470.
