MONROE - Tickets are available for the Monroe Arts Center's 19th Showcase of Talent.

The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13 and 14 at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 1600 26th St.

The annual event showcases a wealth of talented individuals and groups during an evening of lively family entertainment.

Emceed by Big Radio personality Dan Blum, the showcase will be presented like a radio variety show. It includes vocal and instrumental music, comedy and more. As with any live show, an on-stage house band adds to the excitement of the evening. The house band includes musicians from the Monroe band The Unusuals. They include Adam Bansley (rhythm guitar), Jon Koenig (guitar, percussion), Erik Madsen (drums), Steve Scheppele (keyboard) and Scott Walters (bass guitar). Saturday night's performance is scheduled for broadcast on Big Radio.

Showcase of Talent co-directors Jackie Ceithamer and Tashona Smith are no strangers to the stage or the Showcase of Talent. They have each performed in the showcase numerous times and have always wanted to direct the show.

Cast members are from the Wisconsin cities of Albany, Browntown, Madison, Milton, Monroe and New Glarus.
