MONROE - A warrant for the arrest of a Texas man was filed Thursday after he was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child in Albany.

Jeremy W. Snelson, 34, Kountze, Texas, was charged with a Class B felony count of repeated first-degree sexual assault of a child after the Wisconsin Department of Justice received a tip from Facebook regarding sexually explicit correspondence between a Texas man and a Wisconsin minor.

A special agent from the Department of Justice's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted the victim Wednesday. The victim, an underage teenage girl, said she had been sexually assaulted by Snelson when he lived in Green County in 2011.

According to a police report, Snelson had offered the victim small rewards if she agreed to take her clothes off in front of him. This continued for some time before the exchanges escalated into sexual acts.

The victim was a pre-teen at the time of the contacts.

The victim said she had sexual contact with Snelson every other day on average, with no more than a week between contacts.

According to the report, the incidents occurred between Sept. 1, 2011 and April 10, 2013.

Should Snelson be apprehended by law enforcement, he will be extradited to face trial in Green County. The maximum possible sentence he faces for his charge is 40 years in prison.
