Students earn Tommies

MADISON - Area high schoolers will be honored this weekend in Madison for their work in musical theater productions.

The Tommy Awards, an education initiative at the Overture Center in Madison, recognizes excellence in high school musical theater in southern Wisconsin at an annual awards program, held this year on Sunday, June 3.

Darlington High School's production of "Oklahoma" is being recognized in the Outstanding Ensemble category.

Eric Anderson is nominated in the Outstanding Lead Performer category for his portrayal of Charlie Brown in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" at New Glarus High School.

T.J. Lawson is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Performer category for playing Ali Hakim in Darlington's "Oklahoma."

Receiving individual honorable mentions are Ben Minogue, who played Captain Hook in Monroe High School's "Peter Pan," and Alix Brandt, who played Aunt Eller in Darlington's "Oklahoma."
