During the week of Sept. 26, the sub-contractor hired by Rock Road Companies for curb and gutter and concrete construction, Parisi Construction Co., continued forming and placing concrete sidewalk and driveways on 8th and 9th streets, from 14th Avenue to 20th Avenue and on 13th Avenue from 10th Street to 9th Street. They installed approximately 2,100 feet of concrete sidewalk between 16th Avenue and 20th Avenue.
This week, Rock Road Companies started placing topsoil between the curb and sidewalk and behind the sidewalk from Wisconsin 69 to 15th Avenue. Voegeli Landscaping followed behind with final grading of the topsoil and seed placement to 13th Avenue. The electrical contractor, Westphal and Company Inc., continued with the installation of street lights and traffic signal light poles, and started pulling street light wiring through the conduit from the Wis. 69 to 13th Avenue.
Next week, Parisi is scheduled to complete the placement of concrete sidewalks and driveways from 12th Avenue to 20th Avenue. Rock Road and Voegeli will continue with site restoration throughout the project in preparation for the installation of traffic signs by Badger Lighting and Signs. The final layer of asphalt pavement is anticipated to be placed by the end of next week with the installation of the stamped asphalt crosswalks to follow.
The electrical contractor, Westphal and Company Inc., will continue installing street lights from 13th Avenue to 16th Avenue and will be setting up the traffic signal controllers and conducting testing of the signals.
All businesses are open during construction and ready for your patronage. The road way may appear to be open for continual traffic, but be aware of the possible hazards of a closed road with construction traffic and for the safety of the workers as they work towards completion of the project.
