DARLINGTON — A sex offender who was convicted of his crimes in 2003 will be released from custody and living in Darlington, officials said.

According to a statement from Darlington Police, 45-year-old Jason M. Schmidt will be living in a home on Arthur Street in Darlington. 

Schmidt, who served his sentence, was convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in 2003. 

“The information is being shared by the police department to heighten awareness of the presence of Schmidt in the neighborhood,” said the Darlington Police press release. “If you have questions, contact the Darlington Police Department at (608) 776-4981.
