Man cited after semi rollover closes south side streets, highway Friday afternoon
BRODHEAD - A 21-year-old male from Tomahawk was cited for failure to maintain control, inattentive driving and unreasonable and imprudent speed after a semi-truck rollover at 1:49 p.m. on 23rd Street just east of 1st Center Avenue/Wisconsin 11.
The quad-axel, boom-lift truck was traveling northbound on 1st Center Avenue and attempted to make a right-hand turn on to 23rd Street. The operator of the truck was unable to maintain control while completing the turn, causing the it to overturn and land on its side.
The semi sustained moderate damage. The semi driver was treated on scene for minor injuries and released. The street was reopened at 4:25 p.m.
Brodhead Fire, Brodhead EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, Brodhead Public Works and L&S Trucking also responded.
