Reading Program registration open through June 7

ALBANY - Albertson Memorial Library is accepting registrations between Tuesday, May 28 and Friday, June 7 for its 2013 Summer Reading Program.

The library offers a preschool storytime on Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m., a Dig Into Reading-themed program for children entering kindergarten through third grade on Thursday mornings from 10:45 a.m. until noon, and a Garden Readers program for entering fourth through eighth grade on Friday mornings from 10:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. All programs begin the week of June 10 and end the week of July 22.

Preschool storytime is an hour of stories, finger plays, songs, rhymes and other early literacy activities. Dig Into Reading offers stories, games, activities, light snacks and incentive reading prizes. Garden Readers includes book talks and lessons related to gardening, plus 45 minutes of hand-on gardening at the Albany Community Garden.
