John Cuta is the new postmaster in Brodhead. He has served as the postal officer in charge there since February.
Cuta began his postal career in Brooklyn in 1984, and later worked as a postal clerk, city letter carrier and then supervisor at the Stoughton Post Office.
After that, he was the supervisor at the Edgerton Post Office. He has served as postal officer in charge in McFarland, Stoughton, Edgerton and Brodhead.
As postmaster, Cuta oversees distribution, retail and business mail operations, as well as delivery on two city and four rural routes.
Cuta and his wife Brenda live in rural Oregon and have four adult children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys family gatherings, cooking, fishing and golf.
If you could have one superpower for a day, what would it be?> Going back to cartoon times, I suppose it would be time travel. I think that would be intriguing.
What's in your CD player right now?> Either Jimmy Buffet or The Who
What is something you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet?> Scuba dive in the Micronesian islands
If there is one thing you could change about the U.S. Postal Service, what would it be?> Having one set of work rules for the entire company. Now, there's multiple unions involved and they all have a different set of work rules. Not everyone's working on the same agenda.
What's your pet peeve?> I'm guilty of this, a lack of patience.
