BLANCHARDVILLE — The Pecatonica School Board and district administration recently announced that management services and general contracting company CG Schmidt of Madison has been selected to lead the master facility planning process for the district.
The selection process was led by the board and administration.
CG Schmidt will partner with a team of experts to create a comprehensive, long-range facilities plan. The master plan will include a review of the existing facilities, an educational space adequacy assessment, identification of options for review, development of cost estimates and a final report to the district.
The team will also explore methodologies for funding projects through performance contracting, state and federal grants, referendum questions and private donations.
The district made the selection based on numerous criteria, including a robust portfolio of K-12 master planning, design and construction work in small rural districts, cost-effectiveness, commitment to employing local subcontractors and laborers, reputation for quality construction and the value added services CG Schmidt can provide to the district.
CG Schmidt has an extensive education portfolio and strong relationships with clients such as Baraboo, Barneveld, Beaver Dam, Kickapoo, Lodi, Monroe and Wild Rose school districts.
CG Schmidt is partnering with Plunkett Raysich Architects LLC, Upper 90 Energy, Edison Energy and Trane to help meet the district’s strategic goals.
Potential community desires at the high school include an expanded gymnasium, an indoor track and weight room, expanded locker rooms and a full-size auditorium with a performance space. The district is also interested in evaluating the early childhood programming offered in the community and expanding those offerings at the elementary building in Hollandale.
