MONROE - Rev. Lawrence Gail Glenn is the new priest in charge of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Monroe.
He said his hope is to bring to St. Andrew's a loving attitude, approachability, transparency, integrity, consistency and to be a good listener.
He holds a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota and a Master of Sacred Theology from Nashotah House at Delafield. He also has a Doctor of Psychology in Pastoral Care and Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in history and sociology.
Glenn served 13 years in the U.S. Navy as an enlisted man and 11 years as a chaplain in the U.S. Army, both active and reserve. In the Navy he was a cryptologist, which took him to every continent except Antarctica.
He served in 19 countries, 36 seas and every ocean. He has been to most states as either a cryptologist or as a chaplain.
He and his Terri have three daughters and five grandchildren. They live in Rockton.
Glenn is also a Master Woodworker at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking and is in its fellowship program. He hopes to complete the training in three years. When he is finished, he wants to make chancel furniture, such as an altar or a pulpit.
"Only nine people have completed this program. It is very elite," he said.
