MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee:
• Authorized employee flu shots for 2008 be paid by using Flex (Section 125) funds reverted to the city. Chairman Mark Coplien said he wants employees to know this is a one-time opportunity, and may not be a available next year.
• Set an hourly rate of $17, without benefits, for part-time seasonal personnel for snow removal at the municipal airport.
• Passed a motion to set non-union (department head) employees' general compensation, including cost-sharing health insurance, for 2009 to reflect the percentages settled with union employees. Coplien said the vote setting general compensation increases would not be official until after performance reviews are done. The item will be taken up again at the next committee meeting.
