Conserv. League fall banquet

ARGYLE - The Green County Conservation League annual fall banquet is slated for Thursday, Oct., 18 at the Argyle Rod and Gun Club, W9141 Wisconsin 81.

The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Scott Roepke, a big game expert from the DNR, will speak at 7:30 p.m. about the expanding population and the present and future of bears in Wisconsin.

A raffle, door prizes and a silent auction will take place. Seven guns will be in the raffle plus cash prizes.

Orangeville

Chili and soup supper Oct. 17

ORANGEVILLE - The 10th annual Orangeville American Legion and Auxiliary chili and soup supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Orangeville Village Hall, 104 N. Church St.

The menu will include chili, ham and bean soup, vegetable beef soup, ham sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, pickles, olives, cheese tray, coffee, milk and dessert. Takeouts are available.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for ages 6 to 10 and free for children under 6.

Harvest festival will be Oct. 17

ARGYLE - The Adams Lutheran Church will hold its harvest festival starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the church, N7148 County Road A.

Jeff Skatrud, Green County Sheriff, will present a program called "Common Drugs in Green County." Skatrud will discuss heroin and marijuana and how law enforcement is dealing with these issues in Green County.

A lunch will follow the program in the fellowship hall.
