MONROE — The Green County Sheriff’s department last week announced some key promotions.
Two veteran officers — with a combined more than two decades of experience — have been promoted to the rank of sergeant.
According to a statement from Green County Sheriff Cody Kanable, one of the newly minted sergeants, Deputy Dani Jackson, has 19 years with the department. Previously, she worked in dispatch, jail and patrol divisions. Kanable called her “one of our most experienced training officers.”
The other new sergeant, Corporal Derek Whitcomb, has logged 5 years of experience with the department. He started in the jail and is now a lead firearms instructor for the agency.
“Both of these deputies have shown a strong commitment to professional service in our community and we are excited to have them,” Kanable said.
