MONROE - A Freeport man pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually assaulting a woman in Monroe two years ago.

Equez Collins, 22, was charged with a Class G felony count of third-degree sexual assault after a woman reported having been sexually assaulted in Collins' vehicle.

The victim claimed Collins offered her a ride home from a Monroe bar on March 1, 2014. After driving some distance, Collins pulled over into a church parking lot and forced sexual contact with the woman in the back seat of his car.

After the assault, Collins dropped the victim off at a gas station before leaving.

As part of his plea agreement, a charge of felony bail jumping from Jan. 14 was dismissed.

The maximum sentence for a Class G felony is up to five years in prison or a $25,000 fine.

Collins' sentence will be determined on April 13, after a pre-sentencing investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
