ORANGEVILLE - Dog star, Hairy Pawter, a 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier who will be filming a major motion picture this summer in Hollywood, will attend the Orangeville Education Foundation's Stop-Drop-and-Beg Dogfest. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 6 at the Jane Addams Shelter House, 1811 W. High St.

The movie is based on the true story of Stormy, a dog who helped soldiers cope with hardships during World War II. Hairy will have the book "Yorkie Doodle Dandy" for sale and will "pawtograph" them. All proceeds from book sales benefit Canine Cancer Research.

The event will include doggie games, contests, activity stations, wiener dog races, obedience, agility and Frisbee demonstrations, off leash play areas, silent auctions, vendors and free doggie nail trims.
