ALBANY - Local authors Christine Dieckhoff, Brodhead, and Diana Vance, Monroe, will present and sign their books between 10 a.m. and noon Friday, Oct. 26 at the Sugar River Bookstore, 200 Oak St.
Dieckhoff's book, "Opening the Door Just a Crack," is little slices of everyday life encapsulated in powerful poetry. The author's perspective on nature, spirituality, humor, family and friends, patriotism and the promise of love are shared.
Vance's book, "The Heart of a Lion," is a novel of Russian intrigue. Russian history professor, Alexis Caldwell, an American, has no idea when she arrives in Leningrad that she would be caught up in a plan for heart researcher Mikhail Berensky to defect to the United States. A hunt in the Caucasus Mountains is the cover for this dangerous adventure. A steamy romance heightens the excitement of the plan.
