'Cruisin' car show set for July 12 in Blanchardville

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Blanchardville Community Pride will be sponsoring its 29th annual Cruis'n Wisconsin Car, Motorcycle and Truck Show July 12 in McKellar Park.

The feature vehicle will be a 1940 Ford 2-door Sedan, "LQQKN' 40," owned by Nick and Toni Pinto, Des Plaines, Ill. The vehicle was a Great 8 contender for the Ridler Award in 2009 and won several indoor national awards, including a spot in the 2012 Winfield Select 6 at the Syracuse Nationals and the 2013 Elite 6 Rod and Custom Nationals in Philadelphia.

Bill Watkins, Argyle, will be the "Local Spotlight" feature with his 1970 Mustang Fastback, a nine-year restoration in the making. Paragon Customs will also be featuring a 1954 Panhead Chopper called "The Twisted Pan."

All stock to 6-year-old and modified to present vehicles are welcomed. More than 130 trophies, more than 40 classes and three "Best of show" trophies will be awarded.

Non-food, craft and swap vendors are welcomed.

Door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, T-shirts and beer and food will be available. Dash plaques will be provided to the first 400 vehicles. Vehicle registration is $6 before July 8 and $12 at the door. Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon.

General admission is $2 and free for children under 12.
