Warren W. Weinschenk, age 71 of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on August 12, 1937, in Darlington, the son of Victor and Ethel Weinschenk. He graduated from Argyle High School in 1956.

Warren entered the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, IL, on September 29, 1958. He served overseas in Germany for one and a half years as a Private 2nd Class in the 382 Military Police Battalion as an MP. He was discharged November 27, 1962.

He is survived by many friends in Monroe and the surrounding area. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Milton I. Steiner.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Officiating will be Monsignor Thomas Campion, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle, at a later date.
