GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE - Two people received non-life threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Smock Valley Road north of County MM in Jordan township. Deputies' investigation determined that Jason A. Johnson, 20, Monroe, was northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and left the road. The vehicle traveled into the east ditch line and struck a culvert, causing it to overturn. Johnson and his passenger, Jesse C. Hayes, 20, Albany, were transported to Monroe Clinic ER by Green County EMS. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Johnson was arrested for causing injury while operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for failure to maintain control and expired registration of a motor vehicle less than 26,000 pounds. Hayes was cited for underage drinking of alcohol. Both were released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Frank J. Asciutto, 72, Davis, Ill., hit a deer around 11 a.m. Sunday on Wis. 11 near Bagley Road in Jefferson township. The vehicle received moderate front-end damage.
