Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a vehicle fire at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Wisconsin 11, west of County S, in the Town of Sylvester. Deputies report coming upon Jan A. Miller, 56, Monroe, who had been driving west on Wis. 11 when he noticed smoke coming from under the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle. Miller pulled over to inspect the smoke when the vehicle caught on fire. Miller attempted to put out the fire with his hands but was unsuccessful. The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. The Juda Fire Department responded and put out the fire. The vehicle is registered to a Ronald Babler of South Wayne and is a total loss. Miller declined medical treatment for his injuries. Miller was transported to the Monroe Clinic ER by private vehicle. The car was towed from the scene.

• Joan K. Montgomery, 57, South Wayne, reported at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday that she collided with a deer that morning in the N6400 block of County A, Town of Adams. Montgomery advised she was eastbound when she collided with and killed the deer. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

DARLINGTON - Wayne M. Rosenstiel, 31, South Wayne, reported striking a deer at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on Wis. 78 in Argyle township. Argyle police assisted with the accident investigation.
