Monroe Police

MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 5 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of 16th Street. Police report a vehicle operated by Brian J. Hellenbrand, 47, Monroe, collided with a parked vehicle owned by Steven M. Allen.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Culver's Restaurant. Police report a vehicle operated by Shirley A. Baebler, 78, Monticello, backed into a vehicle operated by Charles E. Remus, 63, Monroe. Both vehicles received minor damage.

- No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 6:15 p.m. Friday in the back yard at 300 block of 11th Avenue. Police report Alvin A. Fiez, 94, New Glarus, was backing out of his driveway, continued across 4th Street, over a curb and struck a deck attached to the residence. The vehicle continued down a four-foot drop of cement steps and came to rest in the back yard. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Deputies were dispatched at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash in a parking lot of an establishment off of County KK in Monroe Township. Deputies report a vehicle owned by Jeffery D. Bowen, 52, Monroe, was hit by a black SUV. The SUV fled the scene after the collision. Bowen's vehicle received minor damage, and was driven from the scene. Nobody was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. A suspect was named, and the case remains under investigation.

- Deputies were dispatched at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash at a business off of 31st Avenue and County K in the Town of Monroe. Deputies report a vehicle owned by Umavathy Manoharan, 41, Monroe, was parked in the parking lot when a vehicle backed into it. The driver of the offending vehicle left the scene without notifying Manoharan. No one was in Manoharan's vehicle when it was struck. The vehicle received damages. The case remains under investigation.

MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 11:30 a.m. Friday on South Mill Street at East Park Street in Browntown. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Christopher A. Humphry, 24, Browntown, failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by Brandy J. Happ, 23, Browntown. The vehicles received extensive damage and were towed. The dense fog contributed to the crash.

- Roger J. Kalscheur, 56, New Glarus, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration following a one-vehicle accident at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Wisconsin 59 and County F in Albany township. Deputies report his vehicle went into a ditch. He was released pending court.

- No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Stateline Road and Best Road in Spring Grove township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Margretta S. Smith, 82, Rockford, Ill., failed to stop a stop sign, hit an embankment and went into a field. Smith attempted to drive through the field, but her vehicle got stuck. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed. Fog and speed were contributing factors in the crash.

- A vehicle driven by Dennis J. Kartman, 66, Verona, collided with a deer at about 9:15 p.m. Friday on Wis. 69 south of Exeter Crossing Road in New Glarus township. The vehicle received moderate damage.
