Three hospitalized after two-vehicle accident Sat.

MONTICELLO - Three people were taken to area hospitals, two by Med Flight, following a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Washington township west of Monticello.

A car, driven by Chantresa M. Brooks, 24, of Argyle, was traveling east on County C and approaching the intersection of County N when a car driven by Patti L. Fye, 57, Freeport, entered north into the intersection from County N and collided with Brooks' vehicle, according to Green County Sheriff's reports. Fye's vehicle spun out of control and came to rest near the northeast corner of the intersection; Brooks vehicle continued east on County C, went into the north ditch, struck an embankment and nearly overturned. The accident occurred at 1:15 p.m.

Fye and her passenger, Christopher J. Fye, 58, Freeport, were both injured. They were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. They were both wearing seat belts and both front air bags deployed.

Christopher Fye was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital in Madison for possible life-threatening injuries. Pattie Fye was transported to UW Hospital by Monroe EMS for possible life-threatening injuries.

Brooks was also injured; she was also trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated. Brooks was transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital by the New Glarus EMS for non-life threatening injuries. Brooks was wearing a seat belt and her air bag deployed.

Both vehicles involved in the accident sustained extensive damage and were removed from the scene.

Pattie Fye will be cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. Brooks will be cited for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

The case remains under investigation.
