BELLEVILLE/NEW GLARUS - Thomas Carl Anderson, age 74, of Belleville passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at UW-Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 16, 1938 in the Town of Primrose on the Anderson Homestead, the son of Milo O. and Berdine (Ahrensmeyer) Anderson. Tom attended the Nessa Country School and New Glarus High School. On June 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Legler at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus. Tom had farmed for several years and then worked for the Green County Highway Department for twenty years until his retirement. He was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus and had served as an elder and deacon of the church. Tom had also served as Secretary for the Little Sugar River Watershed Committee.

Thomas is survived by his wife Ruth of Belleville, WI, children Julie (Bill Juberian) Anderson of Naples, FL, Pam Anderson of Roseville, MN, Michael T. (Sarah Yanko) Anderson of Tomah, WI, and Kay (Michael) Holt of Lodi, WI, seven grandchildren Thomas (Katie) Ahlstrom, Britt Ahlstrom, Tyler (Sidney) Ahlstrom, Steven Yaun, Jenelle (Eric) Murley, Nicole (Zac) Yaun, and Lee Holt, a great-granddaughter Aria Marie Murley, siblings Judy Reuter of New Glarus, WI, Milo O. Anderson of Waunakee, WI, Joy (John) Freitag of New Glarus, WI and Jan (Charles) Silbaugh of Oregon, WI, brothers-in-law Robert Legler and Richard Legler both of New Glarus, a sister-in-law Betty Legler of Belleville, WI, and a special cousin Bette Parkin of Hermosa Beach, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Arthur Legler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Avenue, New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Todd Hackman officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is serving the family.

Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
