BRODHEAD - Tallie E. "Bud" Everson age 79, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Evansville Manor. He was born on November 3, 1930 in Brodhead; the son of Tallie and Hazel (Hoffman) Everson. Bud graduated from Brodhead High School and Cincinnatti College of Mortuary Science. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Bud married Betty Stabler-Condon on November 1, 1958 in Rockford, Illinois. Bud operated and owned the Everson Ambulance Service and the Everson Funeral Home for many years.
He belonged to the Knights of Pythias and served as past Grand Chancellor; he was a member of Wallace-Culles-Maveus V.F.W. post 6858 and Swan-Gehr American Legion post 197.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Brodhead; a daughter, Ann (Barry Brown) Everson of Rising Fawn, GA; son Tallie (Jackie) Everson of Brodhead; 2 grandchildren, Patrick and Amanda Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Andy Everson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February, 24, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Brodhead; with Reverend Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in West Luther Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. at Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead. Memorials may be given in Bud's memory to the Everson Memorial Scholarship.
