Shawn W. Ostrom, 32, of Milwaukee formerly of Monroe died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 28, 2016 in Milwaukee. He was born the son of Larry and Kathy (Wright) Ostrom on April 18, 1984 in Monroe.
Shawn was a 2002 graduate of the Monroe High School; and went on to receive his culinary degree from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, AZ. He was a gourmet chef and 2nd shift Supervisor at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. Shawn was a dedicated man earning the achievement of Eagle Scout as well as serving as a guest chef for Big Brothers/Big Sisters at the Monroe Country Club.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Ostrom of Monroe; father, Larry (Jane) Ostrom of Gold Canyon, AZ; maternal grandmother, Lois Wright of Aurora, IL; half-sister, Sherri (Jerry) Wheeler of Evansville, IN; two nieces, Ashley and Natasha; special friend, Christina; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends; and his dog, Marvin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Lou Ostrom and maternal grandfather, Robert Wright.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 5, 2016 at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke as celebrant. Burial will follow services in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at the SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters or the Apostolate to the Handicapped; Cursillo in Christianity, or charity of your choice.
