Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Feb. 27:

♦ An animal problem was reported at 8:41 a.m. on Gilbertson Road in Fayette Township.

♦ Jamie R. Rice, 44, Shullsburg, was cited for unnecessary acceleration, equip motor vehicle with illegal muffler and no proof of insurance at 6:54 p.m. on Johnson Road, Shullsburg Township.

♦ Stacey L. Russell, 43, Blanchardville, was arrested on a valid Blanchardville Police warrant at 7:41 p.m. and brought to the Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and posted bond.

♦ Trevor G. Seffrood, 24, Gratiot, was cited for no insurance and non-registration of auto at 10:36 p.m. on Wis. 78, Gratiot Township.

♦ Belmont Police assisted with a traffic complaint at 10:52 p.m. on U.S. 151, Belmont Township.

♦ Belmont Police assisted with a welfare check at 11:04 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - For the week of Feb. 11 to Feb. 17, the Brodhead Police Department reported 38 calls for service, 10 vehicle registrations, 29 citizen assists, 16 security checks, 11 assists with other agencies, eight traffic stops, seven 911 calls, four fire calls, six EMS calls, and one mental health transport.

On Feb. 11:

♦ Damage to property was reported at 1:01 p.m. in the 2500 block of East 3rd Street. Damage of an undisclosed value was done to a building. This matter remains under investigation.

♦ Police issued 17 parking citations for violation of the winter parking ordinance.

On Feb. 12:

♦ A 45-year-old Orfordville man was cited at 11:09 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street for disorderly conduct following the report of a road rage incident.

♦ Theft was reported at 1:31 p.m. to the 100 block of 1st Street. A trailer of an undisclosed value was reportedly taken from the area. This matter remains under investigation.

On Feb. 13:

♦ A 26-year-old South Milwaukee man was arrested at 6:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

On Feb. 14:

♦ A dog at large was reported at 4:23 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. The owner was contacted, and a warning was issued.

On Feb. 15:

♦ A 23-year-old Madison man was arrested for bail jumping and possession of a narcotic at 3:42 a.m. in the 600 block of 16th Street following the report of suspicious persons in the area.

♦ Theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 7:23 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 4th Avenue. A vehicle was taken from a garage without the owner's consent. The suspect in this case, a 23-year-old Madison man, later turned himself in at the Dane County Sheriff's Office; the vehicle has not yet been recovered. This matter remains under investigation.

♦ A 17-year-old Waterford woman was cited at 3:46 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue for failure to yield to pedestrian.

♦ A code violation was reported at 4:55 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 3rd Avenue. A subject was selling products door-to-door without a license. Contact was made, and a warning was issued.

♦ Theft was reported at 5:02 p.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. Items of an undisclosed value were removed from a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

♦ Theft was reported at 5:13 p.m. in the 500 block of East 2nd Avenue. Items of an undisclosed value were removed from a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

On Feb. 16:

♦ Theft was reported at 7:12 a.m. in the 600 block of 12th Street. Items of an undisclosed value were taken from a vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

♦ A dog bite was reported at 7:14 p.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue. Paperwork was submitted to the Green County Health Department.

On Feb. 17:

♦ A code violation was reported at 6:15 p.m. in the 700 block of East 8th Avenue. A semi tanker was parked off the truck route. Contact was made, and a warning was issued.

♦ For the week of Feb. 18 to Feb. 24, the Brodhead Police Department reported 23 calls for service, 13 vehicle registrations, 43 citizen assists, 16 security checks, 16 assists with other agencies, 13 traffic stops, 11 911 calls, three fire calls and 15 EMS calls.

♦ A juvenile was cited at 8:47 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue for possession of tobacco.

♦ An ATV violation was reported at 4:13 p.m. Feb. 20 in the N100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Three ATVs were reportedly off the trail. Contact was made and warnings were issued.

On Feb. 21:

♦ A 44-year-old Milton man was cited for unsafe passing on the right at 6:12 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

♦ A suspicious vehicle was reported at 7:04 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. The vehicle was left unoccupied with doors standing open. Contact was made with the owner.

On Feb. 22:

♦ Police responded at 8 a.m. to the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue for a welfare check. Upon arrival the subject already left and no further contact was made.

♦ Trespassing was reported at 9:53 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center. The subject was warned for trespassing and advised not to return to the premises.

On Feb. 24:

♦ Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:05 p.m. to the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue for a subject causing a disturbance. The matter remains under investigation.

♦ A dog at large was reported at 3:24 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. The owner was contacted and a warning was issued.

♦ A code violation was reported at 3:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of 6th Street. A semi was off the truck route. The driver was contacted and a warning was issued.
